“So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with Him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes. I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed: “Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.” Daniel 9:3-5
Not only are we asking God during this fast to speak to our hearts personally, we are believing for breakthru in Turner, KS! #Revival in 66106

A. When you give God your first through fasting, prayer and giving at the beginning of the year, you set the course for the entire year.
Q: Why should I fast?
• Are you in need of healing or a miracle?
• Do you need the tender touch of God in your life?
• Is there a dream inside you that only He can make possible?
• Are you in need of a fresh encounter?
• Do you desire a deeper, more intimate and powerful relationship with the Lord?
• Are you ready to have heightened sensitivity to the desire of God?
• Do you need to break away from bondages that have been holding you hostage?
• Is there a friend or loved one that needs Salvation?
B. There is power when we as a church are united in prayer and fasting.
Examples of Corporate Fasting in the Bible:
"And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD. And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh." 1 Samuel 7:5-6
"Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance. For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him. So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us." Ezra 8:21-23
"Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them. And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God." Nehemiah 9:1-3
"Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children.." Joel 2:15
"So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them." Jonah 3:5-10
